About the Scholarship
The Mary McHale Wood Endowed Scholarship for Excellence in Writing:
Mary McHale Wood's gift to those around her is detailed in these pages. Her gift to those who follow is a scholarship offered by St. Norbert College in her name, which also provides a lasting legacy.

Each year, my colleagues and I select a worthy emerging writer from the junior class to recognize with this award. We look for a writer with a sense of vocation, a student who has gone above and beyond the call over the years in his or her writing courses. This student not only shows talent but discipline, ambition, and, best of all, care for other writers in his or her community. This student shares expertise with others, helps others to succeed in their writing adventures, and so serves as a galvanizing force in the St. Norbert writing community.

Congratulations to this year's winner:
Stuart Ninabuck
Stuart just completed his third year at St. Norbert College and is pursuing an English major with a creative writing emphasis. He hopes to make writing his career upon graduation and is a regular contributor to Graphos magazine. This year he attended the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society's annual convention to present his creative work, winning Second Place for Fiction (a considerable honor, taking into account there were over 700 attendees at the conference).
